Mead is currently at 1,055 Feet MSL- 174' below "full pool" and even with where it was this time in '23 ('24 = 1064 & '22 = 1044). This could be caused by several factors: users upstream taking more, Powell not releasing as much, less snowpack, and less local rain, but it's not an emergency. Yet

Are you familiar with California and Arizona? You know, the two other states that account for 98.2% of the water taken from the lower Colorado? Nevada is allocated 300,000 acre-feet of Colorado River water annually, which is 1.8%.

Bellagio's fountains are fed by an onsite spring that is too salty and not clean enough for human consumption. It used to be used to water a golf course, and now the Fountains use 2/3 less water than the course did.

1: Las Vegas has enough water and returns something like 90-95% of what's used back to Mead. 2: Adding trees reduces ground evaporation but increases humidity, which leads to cooler air and more rain. 3: The reason there is a city here is that it's an oasis with springs. 4: We don't have lawns
