I'm a night shift nurse redesigning my work and life around what actually matters. Testing systems, sharing what works (and what doesn't). Follow along if you're doing the same. #Nurse #Nursetwitter

Your 30s show you who you actually are vs. who you thought you'd be.

The gap isn't failure.

It's data.

And acting on that data is how you build a life that actually fits.

My social circle isn't shrinking, it's reallocating.

When you're new somewhere, say yes to everything.

Once you know what matters? You get selective.

That's not antisocial. That's intentional living.

Every job change, every move, every new hobby taught me:

I've been doing what makes sense for myself all along.

Took this long to stop needing permission for that.

Your body just works differently. I was 129lbs in high school, held steady at 140lbs for years.

Not like I wanted to go back to 129lbs, but now, eating healthier than I did as a teen, I dropped back down without hunger.

Same weight, different nutrition requirements.

Hobbies aren’t just “fun.” They quietly build (or shrink) your world.
They decide who you see each week, what skills you grow, and the direction your life tilts.

Not everything stuck.
Some shaped my friends and focus.
Others just reminded me there are endless niches I could dive into if I wanted.
And this: if you mostly pick solo hobbies, you’ll likely end up isolated. That’s not “wrong,” but it’s a choice.

Not everything people do gets labeled a “hobby.” Most wouldn’t call church, volunteering, or trivia night a hobby. But they work the same way; they put you in certain rooms, week after week.

It’s not just about the hobby.
It’s not just about the people.
It’s the mix of both, what you practice and who it puts you around.

Some I loved (lifting, kettlebells).
Others were quick experiments.
But each one shaped how I spend my time and the people I see.

I never pictured myself longboarding, juggling, or hiking.
Same with Toastmasters, improv, or stand-up.
Yet those became part of my adult life.
