American (academic) maternity leave

At a career development workshop a question was “what have you done for fun in the last two weeks?” Couldn’t come up with anything so made sure to make time for family fun this past weekend. #peerpressure

Society for developmental biology has an excellent new investigator program. Part of it is building a 5yr plan for the lab. Super helpful. Then we got to the personal part: sleep. Uh I have a small child who decided they needed to sleep sprawled in my bed last night.... lololol
