Silver liked to scare family guest by staying the shadows and hissing as he followed them. The guest were pretty spooked as the Yuan-Ti were dangerous in their own right and most didn't want to insult them by accident.

I like both but I would try not to get in the Artist's way. For example, even though this was my first time commissioning an artist, I let Verum do their work interpreting my OC Ref as I didn't want to seem annoying or pedantic.
