Okay, so maybe I have a quirky fascination with mushrooms, but you've got to admit, these paper creations are incredible. www.demilked.com/woodlucker-a...

While I'm glad these workers could be shifted to other parts of the gallery, I can't even begin to think of the ramifications these changes will have. Goodbye access programs. So long touch sensitive tours. No more collaborations with culturally relevant curators. Just, no.

Frida Kahlo’s “The Two Fridas” may be the only well-known historic painting created by a woman about the demise of a relationship.
Frida Kahlo’s Elegy to Heartache
Despite the fact that most of humanity has shared the devastating emotional turmoil of a breakup, the topic is strangely elusive in the history of art.

The exhibition that I'm most looking forward to seeing this summer is 'Julie Mehretu: A Transcore of the Radical Imaginatory' at the MCA Sydney. Not an artist I'm familiar with, but one that looks truly inspired. www.mca.com.au/exhibitions/...

Here's Primavera assistant curator, Lucy Lattela speaking at last night's members tour at the MCA.
I hadn't seen Christopher Bassi's work before (shown here) and it was a delight to hear about the small scale sculptures he created to base these paintings. He gives reverence to such small objects.

A lot of interest yesterday in the artists involved in Womanifesto and the ongoing Anthology project. Great to see so many people at the artists talks.
