Wouldn’t shutting down the government accelerate firing employees and stopping the programs we care about? I don’t fully understand the calculus. I suggest we eat a sh!t sandwich for the next 18 months and actually focus on winning elections.

I’m a bit confused by the survey question. Would people want an authoritarian regime if it didn’t support their political positions? Modify the wording to say “a strong leader can make decisions YOU DON’T AGREE WITH”. Let’s see how people answer.

So, they haven’t technically scuttled it as that would require Congressional approval (for whatever that’s worth anymore) but effectively mothballed it.

I’m not sure what passing legislation will do. Musk and company don’t seem too inclined to adhere to laws. You may need to physically obstruct their work. Try going to one of the buildings where Musk’s DOGE cabal is doing their dirty work and demand to go in and physically stop it.
