Seattle Asian Art Museum
Located in Volunteer Park is the Seattle Asian Art Museum—a true jewel and worth a visit. The museum itself is set in an Art Moderne building at the front of the park, near the water tower. The museum itself is pretty small but it’s full of really beautiful things and has sweeping windows in the […]

I was reviewing some stuff on my website and kept noticing how TRASH my photos looked—super pixelated and small. I compress the ever living hell out of my pics to save on storage, but they still look quite good. Turns out my host enabled screen size scaling to speed up load time. Nope, *clicks off.*

We took a stroll around the Volunteer Park Conservatory for some good ol' fashioned Edwardian fun. lol.
Volunteer Park Conservatory
We took a stroll around the Volunteer Park Conservatory for some good ol’ fashioned Edwardian fun. lol. If you’ve never been, it’s a beautiful hothouse that is filled with tropical plants and 1900s technology. I was particularly taken by these orchids, they were gorgeous and I’ve never seen any that look like this. My grandma […]

In the autumn/winter months we often make a hearty collard greens soup to warm us—we don't really have a defined recipe, but I share the technique on the blog.

It does make me sad, of course, when my grandma says things like it's her last time visiting the US, etc. She is 91 after all—but at the same time, we're having the MOST fabulous time ever. Moments I'll cherish forever.

A Corned Beef Dinner
My grandma, visiting from Japan mentioned her fondness for corned beef (that is difficult to get there) so, we made it for dinner! We of course make a corned beef (or corned pork!) every year for Saint Patricks Day—for some reason though I did not write about it on here this year. So, here we […]

Apparently my grandma had never been to a museum, so we changed that by taking her to the Seattle Art Museum!
Seattle Art Museum
Apparently my grandma had never been to a museum, so we changed that! First, though, we needed some breakfast so we hopped over to Portage Bay Cafe. For some reason it was insanely busy the day we went—the server literally mentioned it was busier than Mother’s Day. So odd. It definitely was too because we […]

Nightly ablutions include: teeth brushing, vitamins, face washing, personal journal, logging my daily mood.

Usually one or two of these get thrown in: Reading, muzak time, writing, writing for the blog, watching weird metaphysical ASOIAF theories online. 😂 Ugh I'm exhausted just writing this.

The Resurrection of Tango, A Review of Bar Tango
After years of being closed, Capitol Hill Seattle’s Tango has been resurrected as Bar Tango, including its famous El Diablo dessert!
