You actually have to rise up as citizens to enforce your constitution. Waiting in anguish for someone to do something is acceptance of your lot.

Sorry to hear that. Canadians owe you a bit of gratitude though, for reminding us of who we are, and why. And Canadians have a king. But he doesn't meddle in our affairs and pretty much lets us be ourselves. Strong and free.

Damn. Turns out m English-Canadian father was right telling me, decades ago, that Americans were apathetic and content with their station in life, whatever that may be. An American told me 20 years ago that Americans want to be led by a king. I thought he was off his rocker. But he was correct.

Your "president" as dictator is not even really the worst thing about him. You guys elected a real monster, and it's coming out in dribs and drabs from the Epstein Files. As long as I live I will never understand the psychology behind thinking that guy should be anywhere but behind bars.

And speaking of accents, mine got made fun of all the time when I was the US. You can't say "eh" down there, and they are amused by the "oot" and the "rrr" in the accent. I ordered a beer in a pub in Portland and the waitress mocked me when she brought it over "here's your brrr!"

I can hear a Washington State accent a mile away, especially outside Seattle. The rural parts of Washington has a twang you never hear in BC. San Juans though, I've never been. But it's funny to me to imagine that the next island over in the same Salish Sea I live by has a different accent.

I know, every country probably has very fine microbreweries. In my community of 30 000 there are several, we're kind of known for that. But I was in supermarket in Oregon that had a beer-dedicated aisle, but only big brands. I bought a Cdn one, Labatt Ice, which I would never drink in Canada.

It's treachery. I was ID'd once buying so-called beer in Oregon. The clerk looked at my driver's license and asked where British Columbia was. I told him Canada. He still seemed confused. I told him we look like you but we're not you, yet we walk among you and you don't realize it.

"If any of it was true our enemies would certainly have used it against us" is not a valid legal argument, to be sure. It's the kind of weak conjecture a guilty party would use to sow doubt.
