More power at the plate, or more power on the horizon in left field?

Ronald Acuña Jr. is putting in that work with #Braves Spring Training just one month away.

So, we may not ring in the New Year with a flurry of #Braves transactions, but I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for following along, subscribing, interacting with, and otherwise supporting my work in 2024.

This was my 20th season in baseball, so here's to 20 more?!

Covered Max Fried from A-ball to the big leagues and all that followed. A determined competitor who was always thoughtful and open when discussing both the highs and the lows – he was accountable. Wish him all the best in the next chapter.

He shared a message with #Braves fans on his Instagram.

Former #Braves slugger Rico Carty has passed away. He was inducted into the team's Hall of Fame last year. He was 85 years old.

RIP "Beeg Boy."

#Braves Cy Young Award Winners:

Warren Spahn (1957)
Tom Glavine (1991, 1998)
Greg Madduz (1993, 1994, 1995)
John Smoltz (1996)
Chris Sale (2024)

That's four Hall of Famers and another who could join them as Sale finally earns this honor.

#Braves Chris Sale won the 2024 National League Cy Young Award, the first such honor of his career. He did so with a Triple Crown season, pacing the NL with 18 wins, a 2.38 ERA, and 225 strikeouts.

He's the first Atlanta pitcher to win the Cy Young since Hall of Famer Tom Glavine in 1998.

Chris Sale finished in the Top 5 in Cy Young voting 6 consecutive years from 2013-2018. He didn't receive a single vote in the past 5 years thanks to a litany of injuries.

Now, at age 35, he should finally take home his first Cy Young Award in his first year with the #Braves.

Charlie Morton's curveball was the missing piece, and it was a pitch he had all along. Finally throwing it more at age 32 made him one of the better strikeout pitchers in baseball.

From my latest #Braves piece for the Marietta Daily Journal.

From my upcoming article on #Braves Charlie Morton pitching in 2025 at age 41. We had this chat months ago, but the gears were clearly turning even then with respect to balancing career and family. I appreciated the candid revelation that he may have already retired if he'd been successful sooner.
