The new Husker Du boxset is exemplary. What a band they were.

Finished this last evening. Wow. An outstanding biography. The truly singular life of this major NZ cultural figure is covered superbly by the author.
The writing is high quality through-out, which details, explains and analyses Knox's life superbly.
You owe it to yourself to read this.

I think @dadadrummer.bsky.social will have the answer to this (especially if you tell him who your brother was 😉).
He has literally written the book on this. Here's MP's signed copy of said book, too !

Fully deserved, too !

Bah ! Would love to see Iggy, but not if I have to put up with tedious shite like Zed and Joan Jett beforehand.

This horseshit just turned up on my Insta feed. Shame on our incumbent mayor for linking himself to these racist, venal pricks, shame on them for pushing this crap.
Vote this ignorant, useless clown out. #nzpol #Dunedin

Listening to this for the first time in yonks. Magnificent. (The Pin Group's Go To Town ep, if you can't read the small print, btw). #FlyingNun #PinGroup

Today's NZ Herald. Hooton's a blowhard, of course, but this would still be great to see. #nzpol

Just saw this on a wall in George St. Momentarily thought I might've been having a flashback.
It's an approximation of the actual gig poster from about 35 (!!) years ago. This is A4, the originals were A3 with lots of blue dye on them.

Now playing: Circuit Des Yeux - Halo On The Inside (Matador, 2025). My favourite contemporary artist.
Music that is enthralling, captivating and brave.
It is very stark and often jarring, but it is also so very beautiful and stunning. #NowPlaying

Friday night listening: Circuit Des Yeux - IO (Matador, 2021). One of the best things I've heard in years. Brave, compelling, adventurous, utterly original, soulful, beholden to nothing but her own vision. An enthralling, rewarding, wonderful listen.

Friday night listening: Marlon Williams - Te Whare Tiwekaweka (Marlon Williams / Universal, 2025). Beautiful album. Just as I predicted, it entered the charts at #1. It is heartwarming that so many people enjoy this very talented young man's music and have embraced an album sung entirely in Te Reo.

It really was ! I was lucky enough to see her again in Christchurch in early 2010, too.
Both venues I saw her at were destroyed in the 2011 Christchurch earthquake, sadly.
