Ok I’m not too proud to say I looked it up…

Was attempting to tune my mandolin and suddenly the tuner seemed to be locked on G2 no matter what I played. Realised it had locked on to a harmonic of my fridge’s compressor.
The fridge is also out of tune by +32c and lacks groove.

Post race I was on the ferry back to Circular Quay and the Canadian SailGP boat came whistling up beside and past us. Such a haunting sound of the wind through its rigging, it was easily doing 2 or 3 times the speed of the ferry.

They’re good fun. All those Tokyo lights will look so cinematic. I did this with mine on an iPhone Xs and a couple of tube lights inside and underneath to add a bit of extra colour.

It plays ok, stays in tune and I’m quite pleased with the results.

I’ve sanded away all the glue in the failed repair, applied proper wood glue that has a stronger bond than the wood itself, clamped the two parts together, filled the gaps with a bonding putty, sanded the excess putty and spray painted the repair to match the original paint job.

It played quite well and I actually prefer it to the my other Ibanez AF-75 which is a more expensive model. Anyway it lived in the guitar rack beside my desk and one day last year I looked over and discovered that the repair on the neck had failed.

I have taken the opportunity to start the new year by finishing off the repair of my broken Ibanez Artcore AF-55 guitar. When I bought this it had already had it's neck repaired before. It was a pretty ugly repair with lots of gaps and the guitar was priced at about half the going rate.
