basically yeah. corneas go bad fast so every minute counts. for non-traumatic deaths she’d be on scene with the coroner before the body was transported to the morgue. I think for trauma cases she went to hospitals. she worked day and night. organ harvesting is very specialized.

ppl used to bank gametes. idk if you’re aware of that. some still do but it’s really luxury spending.
also a sad factor is that just accepting random sperm down the line can disqualify offspring from benefits the surviving parent contributed to.

I’m with you on that but other ppl want to procreate with ppl they love and I’m not going to drag someone who lost their partner but still got to have a kid with them. that seems incredibly cold-hearted.

yeah I used to hang out with an eye harvester. eyes are only viable for a short time. donor corpses tend to arrive at the morgue already eyeless. harvesters are on call 24/7.

neither do I but this isn’t even on my list. my daughter and I will be artificially inseminating ewes bc we don’t want a large herd and we want the highest level of genetic diversity we can manage within a breed.
