I think it was a published study about telepathy that brought this to light because the study couldn't be replicated again. However, this does not shake the fundamentals of science- it only exposes bad actors more easily when people are skeptical and educated about the manipulation.

I remember getting a majority of the way through my stats for scientists class and at the very end my professor says "Alright so let's talk about p-hacking". Look into The Replication Crisis. As scientists, we should admit shortfalls and address them, and there are ways!
