I've been wrestling with an article for UMAmi for a while. Printed out a rough draft, messed with it a bit, finally submitted a cohesive piece today. It will be in the next ish (June 2025) & I think there will be more collaborative work to go with it!

May 1 was proclaimed Americanization Day in 1921. It was renamed Loyalty Day in 1959 to distance it from "communist" Labor Party origin. It reasserts US freedom, heritage; encourages nat'l pride, unity.
