Shocked no one's mentioned Ninja Gaiden. Best action games ever put together. Metroid Prime is a very close second for me.

Really dig this style. Reminds me of high quality games on the DS/3DS.

Nintendo is a good example of the double edged sword that comes from companies being the preservationists as Nintendo rereleases their classics. They're going to want to profit and put effort into stopping other efforts.

Taking down an emu for their modern console isn't the issue, though.
