I’m all for following protocol, but what is happening is ridiculous. The GOP changed the playbook, so Dems need to stop playing by the old rules.

It’s not a buyout. It’s a “promise” to quit by Sept. Employees would still work, but they can work from home. That’s it. No severance. Just assurance they’ll leave.
And if a person doesn’t do it, they’ll make you miserable with threats of furloughs, reduced pay, changes to duty stations.

Now I know why the email from HR gave the “Caution” message that “This email came from outside the federal government” despite having a “.gov” address.

Wow. By Friday? That’s not going to happen. At least in the regions. There’s a lot of us who live >50 miles from an office. Looks like AFGE is going to be busy challenging this.

It’s going to cost a lot of money. Telework started over 10 years ago & as it grew, leases ran out. Regional offices do not have the space to put people. Some regional offices are entirely telework…there’s no office space at all. But T&M don’t care. They just want people to quit.
