I’ve been hooked on walking for a long time but it really took on a new level when I moved to a house that’s a 35 minute from the LaBagh Woods. It’s a nice reward for walking 2.5 miles through the city.

I don't know my yeast-based spreads lore, but I've read that vegemite has more vegetable-based ingredients than marmite. I've been to the UK, but no one I stayed with introduced me to it.

I was a huge fan of black metal in the late ‘90s and early ‘00s and that genre was saturated with explicitly fascist bands or “nihilistic” versions of the same sentiments. At least that scene had a couple truly worthwhile releases, unlike the entirety of neofolk.

Old fucks like me remember how the NYPD (led by ol’ Drippy Rudy) went into open rebellion over Dinkins and how the far left despised him as well. I expect a complete replay of that come 2026.

Jeffs stopped being born around 1986 and you must be one of the very few Jeff Jrs. to come out of the roughly 30 year Era of Jeffs. There will probably be a Jeffaissance in 2050 so it’ll be cool again like Sophie or other 1920s names became in the past 20 years

That's a much better outcome than what happened with their second #1 single of 1981, "I Can't Go For That", which inspired thousands of dumb guys to make "NO CAN DO" a semi-acceptable response to requests in real life situations.

This lineup is so stodgy and conservative that it totally negates any joy I get from the fact that they booked the only truly vital white boomer acts still going (Weird Al and Sparks, of course).

Can't wait for the Mohinder box set with all 13 minutes of their music spread across 3 multi-colored LPs. The accompanying 43 page photo book will feature a retrospective written by the guy who reviewed Andrew WK's "I Get Wet" for Pitchfork.

Hey, remember those unique record sleeves that were handmade with silkscreens, stamps or newspaper/magazine collages? Well, we've repackaged them in sleeves that are just b&w pics of the dudes rocking out at the Che Cafe. Also, no lyrics but we hired someone to write about the band.
