Taken together these findings should provide key information to all those looking to eliminate hepatitis including patients and their carers, policy makers and those running services

These included (i) which are the most effective of the first line treatments recommended by WHO and (ii) are there novel strategies that can cure infection that might allow reduced pill burden, shorter duration and/or be suitable for treating hard to reach groups?

The innovative trial design allowed us to provide clear answers to a number of key questions around hepatitis C treatment

The trial is the cornerstone a 10-year programme supported by @wellcometrust.bsky.social (building on initial Medical Research Council ODA funding) looking at questions ranging from fundamental biology and clinical science to economic evaluation and community engagement.
