“Just be yourself” can sound like cliché and bad advice, because honestly, it goes badly sometimes. It can hurt. Some people will reject you. But the reason it’s worth it is that when things do work out, it’s with people who really like the real you, and that feels so much better than pretending.

Parents having time to actually spend with their kids because they aren't working 80+ hours a week just to make sure they got a roof over they head and food on the table.

I keep plaguing myself with thoughts of feeling like I’m too old to enjoy something when that’s not true. I like sewing. I like making a costume of a character I appreciate. Social media has been killing my mindset on how I should approach a hobby instead of enjoying it.
