The last time the Senators finished above .500 in November was the 2016-17 season when they were 9-5-1.
The Senators start their 7-game road trip with a massive win in Anaheim. Brings their record to 4-1-3 in November, capturing points in 7 of 8 games.

Stephen Halliday gets his first point in the NHL on that Shane Pinto power play goal.

Watching the second episode of 'Wingmen' and Brady Tkachuk mentions that he hopes to return to the lineup around American Thanksgiving (Thurs, Nov 27th).

The Senators announce that they have reacquired Dennis Gilbert. Gilbert was part of the trade deadline deal that brought Dylan Cozens to the Sens in exchange for Josh Norris. The Sens deal RFA Max Guenette to Philadelphia for Gilbert. Gives the Sens another left-shot depth option

Unbelievable feed by Batherson to feed Timmy. 4-3 Sens with 5:43 left in the third.

Pinto off a brilliant feed by Amadio on a two-on-one. 3-1 Sens

This is Fabian Zetterlund's best game as an Ottawa Senator. Doing the digging and working hard to create chances for his linemates. Feeds Dylan Cozens and it's 2-0 Ottawa.

That power play goal is Ottawa's first in their last eight games. They were 0 for 19 in their previous seven games.

Timmy finds G-money for the tap in on the power play. 1-0 Sens.

The @senators.bsky.social are hosting their Hockey Fights Cancer night tonight.

Never been one to divulge much personal stuff, but I had a small scare recently that luckily got caught early. I wrote about it for @thehockeynews.bsky.social:

Looking at Shane Pinto's new four-year extension with the Senators. Here's my latest for @thehockeynews.bsky.social:

Perron-Stutzle-Batherson
Amadio-Pinto-Giroux
Greig-Cozens-Zetterlund
MacDermid-Eller-Cousins

No Chabot this morning. Defensive pairings were all jumbled with three defencemen per side of the ice. Everyone was seemingly rotating with everyone.

Signing Shane Pinto to a four-year extension will buy his first two years of unrestricted free agency. He will hit unrestricted free agency in 2030 alongside Dylan Cozens. The Sens have staggered the expirations of their key pieces. Stützle in 2031, Sandy in 2032 and now Pinto in 2030.

Really liked the Senators' first two periods. They have gone into a shell for the third. Ullmark keeping them in it.

Few nuggets from Staios on TSN 1200 this morning:

- No progress on Formenton. Hasn't decided on whether to renounce rights.
- Really likes Yakemchuk's game. Comfortable calling him up, if necessary.
- Confident a Pinto extension gets done. Will talk with his agent this week.

I don't know if I've ever seen Giroux miss a wide-open cage like that. Next one he shoots goes in. Sens score on the power play to tie it at 2.

Nice feed by Zetterlund to spring Batherson. Missed high.

Notable Sens CF% after the first:

- MacDermid: 0% (0-5)
- Eller and Zetterlund 10% (1-9)
- Jensen: 11.11% (1-8)

Amadio is a smart guy. Goes glove on Korpisalo and the Sens score first. 1-0 Sens.

Timmy's decision-making and puck control early has been incredible.

My latest at @thehockeynews.bsky.social looks at Linus Ullmark's slow start, the criticisms he's faced off the ice and his ability to bounce back from it:
