That's a powerful place to be, IMHO - trying to understand. I think that by the time anyone reaches the level of national office, they are pretty well owned by the moneyed interests that got them there. The last president we had who wasn't beholden to the corporate overlords was Jimmy Carter.

Those people are not representative of the Party. We have to stop generalizing and dehumanizing whole groups of people based on the actions of the worst of them. I am an Independent, BTW. Neither of the two parties have any integrity.
