And that’s good of you. Notice I’m talking about insurers here. I want people to have care but part of ensuring everyone gets care is reducing the total demand and strain on the system.

🧵 Further caveat: I recognize there are rare instances that an adult or child cannot receive a certain vaccine due to other health conditions. Of course, those individuals would be exempt and always eligible for treatment should they contract that disease.

🧵We treat kids for these preventable diseases up to a certain age (say around 16), require the doctor to provide education at that point, including warnings about being denied treatment if they contract it in the future, after which we let the kid make their own choices for vaccination.

I encourage insurers to go scorched earth on just this one thing, Medicare/Medicaid too. It’s needless strain on our medical system that is already overburdened and about to be even more so. Choices have consequences. 🧵
