Tom Holland made a passing comment on TRIH that Bernard of Clairvaux's sermons contained a lot of rhetoric promoting the 2nd Crusade. Does any study of those sermons (if it's been done) offer any help in evaluating contemporary political rhetoric in many evangelical sermons. Any thoughts?
