Thank you, Bono, for one of the most humane, balanced, humble, broadly compassionate reflections on the Israel-Hamas conflict that I've read. Israel does indeed face an existential threat, but not from starving civilians in Gaza. No ends justify these means.

Yesterday I received 2 emails, within 6 minutes of each other, from 2 local theater companies saying that their National Endowment for the Arts grants had been terminated. So had grants for countless theaters and other arts organizations in every corner of the country.
