That was a breakthrough for me at a time when I was alone and miserable! I went to an AA class (even though I'd quit drinking many years before). I still don't know what divine providence made me call AA and ask where a meeting was, but I went, and heard those words and felt such a burden lifted.

I know climate change makes the fires more extreme and devastating after they've started, but I'm trying to understand what started the fires. It seems like either humans or power lines.

How did the fires start before humans? I can think of lightning. One site said volcanic eruptions, meteorite impacts and sparks from rockfall. None of those seem too common for all these fires. 1/

I was addressing your phrase "human scale event." If you don't have a human then you wouldn't have an event, unless it were power lines, I guess. I just find it strange that all these fires are starting all over the place.1/

But doesn't a fire have to have an ignition point? Brush doesn't spontaneously combust, does it? The first thing I was afraid of was arson. I've seen 2 videos on social media of people starting fires, one that Andrew Huberman shared, one showing what looks like a homeless person burning a pallet
