During the summer I run around and look for cool spiders, insects, and other inverts. I take glamour shots of them and try to make them look fabulous so everyone can appreciate how wonderful they are and stop being afraid of them.
Partridge Planthopper (Scolops sulcipes) - A brown bug with an intricately patterned back, brown eyes, and a long snout. It is standing on the stalk of a plant. Emerald Jumping Spider (Paraphidippus aurantius) - A tan spider with large eyes and an orange mask. It face it covered in light tan hairs and the legs are brown with orange coloring. It is standing on a leaf with the blue sky in the background. Hummingbird Clearwing Moth (Hemaris thysbe) - A day flying moth that looks a bit like a flying shrimp. It is reddish in coloring and hovering over a pink flower to sip nectar. Ichneumonid Wasp - A small, light yellow wasp with black eyes, a red thorax, and a black and white striped abdomen. He is rearing up on a leaf that I am holding in my fingers.
