... Really what can they do to share in this great economy? They have to leave their family home and move to the big city to become Amazon drivers, increasing the housing and traffic problems there. I don't know the answer, but we really have to stop this kind of thinking.

... This line, "Communities that rely on those jobs suffer unless they find a way to adjust to the new economy." And those who are suffering elected Trump. Find a way? What way? Allow their town to accept nuclear waste? ...

“It’s not the hypocrisy that bothers me; it’s the stupidity…
Mr. Trump’s America will be increasingly blind and blundering, feeble and friendless…purged images of the plane that dropped the atomic bomb that ended World War II because its name is the Enola Gay. Dumb.”

“And I haven’t even gotten to the damage Mr. Trump is doing by cozying up to dictators…blowing up our alliances — force multipliers that extend our reach…trashing our moral influence by undermining the rule of law at home. Or how he’s tanking our economy and blowing up our national debt.”

The price tag for the Santa Cruz apartments invites more high paid Silicon Valley workers to move to Santa Cruz, making the housing and traffic problems worse. Is housing like highways? Study after study shows adding a lane does NOT reduce traffic. It invites more people to commute.

Santa Cruz is known for having the worst housing crisis in the nation as measured by income to cost ratio. They are building giant apartment buildings downtown. Yet the first one completed is charging $3000/mo for a studio! This is NOT creating housing for the residents of SC. The apts sit empty.
