I wanted to share this photo of the police “presence” to control around 5,000 people gathering and then marching from the state capitol yesterday in Atlanta. They were few and friendly, as always. Don’t let fear keep you from protesting! At the last protest, a policeman thanked me for coming.

Great protest at the Georgia state capitol. Several thousand attendees, many of them union workers. It was great to see a good mix of ages and races. Police were a very low key presence on the sidelines. A lot of press there, including Channel 2. #MayDayAtlanta #RaiseuptheSouth

We were a small but enthusiastic group at Tesla Takedown on Briarcliff Road in Atlanta on Saturday, but we got as many honks and waves as a large group, including a city bus where the driver honked and the passengers waved.

If protest marches are mostly gray, that’s okay. That’s what I learned to do in the sixties and I’m good at it. The young have different protest skills that I can’t learn. Together we’ll take ‘em down!
