The desire for respectability & politeness cannot be stronger than the desire for justice. I'm disappointed in your vote of censure against a fellow congressman who stood up to the lies that keep getting told from the executive branch of our failing government. Please do better.

Perhaps you have heard preachers say that we are meant to "comfort the afflicted and to afflict the comfortable." Her message did just that. How one hears it depends not on any political stance or party line, but where you feel your voice and life are at the moment.

If a call for mercy upon those who are afraid is considered a partisan act and a distortion of the gospel of Jesus, then you have missed the message.

I have ministered to people on all sides of various political divides through the years. Bishop Mariann Budde's message was one truly based on the gospel of Christ. It was, by no means partisan.
