I have found some reductions work fine with just sodium or magnesium powder. If you need precise redox tuning you can also add napthalene or anthracene.

It was a lot of fun hearing about this back when I was at Princeton. It looks like it has also continued to evolve past that point! Glad to see that all that work has come to fruition.

Recently we’ve been doing some samples with paramagnetic impurities and I remember being a wiz with these consoles. The auto lock and auto shim just don’t do poor samples well at all.
