surprisingly, although initially strange, milly's fascination with the chief made enough sense, and the ending proves to be bittersweet (although milly definitely grows by it)

fun event! definitely worth the time, though like others have pointed out, mind the TWs around SA

mostly because the writing sold me on them caring for one another (though milly was the one who first brought them together)

and also how milly's love and hope ended up rubbing off on both sallie and cassian, both of whom become much less jaded towards others by the end +

with, that her ability to "wait out" cannibalism and send a crew to their deaths is more reflective of apathy than rationality

i digress! fun event, and i hope that the inevitable clash of reuniting with pylgia to face shin won't disappoint.

best part of the event was shin only being able to connect w/the abyss bc she feared losing its touch and power, that the rationality she clung to (and which helped her survive) had to be abandoned to truly achieve her goals

i'd argue that she never was quite rational to begin +

compared to shin, who appears amiable and forthcoming to be someone who regards life as something very insignificant in the face of her obsession w/the abyss and the apostles

that these two are perceived and behave in opposite manner, v simple but fun regardless

i do think the+

there's a v cruel irony in hysilens being left alone after two major phases of her life (after the corruption of her sisters, and after the falls of the other heirs), and the person who once gave her direction is now gone and even the oceans abroad have no lure to her 🙂

anw i do think the shift in the two's dynamic would inevitably come after the events of skrk's sq - NOT that she would suddenly become clingy or wtv, just that she would start allowing herself to become attached to teyvat, in wtv form it takes

yesyes ik i was breaking tos but a v pointed effort there

i found it v sweet that hypatia's plan was only possible due to others being willing to help - otherwise she would've died (or others)

overall, a nice interim story for hella, and an interesting set up for fraser/the campbells

we rlly saw a bit of hella's growth regarding a greater confidence in herself

i also liked how strongly the story re-emphasized that a single sacrifice (even for the sake of many) isn't always worth it, as we saw during the wrap up of the syndicate chapter
