There's a reason people stay in Minneapolis. Yes, winters may be harsh (some years), but summers are glorious and the city had the foresight to preserve natural locales for the enjoyment of all. In 3-4 weeks it might snow, but in the meantime... LIVE, LIVE, LIVE!

#MonochromeMonday is such a good excuse to experiment with combinations of the core tools. This blend of b&w warm + film followed by warmth and tint adjustments really highlighted yellow tones. Adding a white vignette gave it a daguerreotype quality I found appealing. Fun.

The smoke from distant forest fires that's been hovering over the city for the past several days feels especially heavy today. It seems you can quite literally see the air today, and my eyes feel like there's grit in them.

I used a double filter (mono-copy-dramatic warm) for #MonichromeMonday #MCM today. In color, sunblock+sweat often gives my skin a smooth metallic sheen. In two-filter mono, I think that effect went, unexpectedly, to somewhat bronze-like. Cool. (original in comments)

This popped up in the memories feed from 2017 as well. I was sunning on another nice day when this guy casually strolled by about 15 feet away. I forever marvel at the wildlife the city supports. (We’re literally about 4 miles from downtown in this shot.)

Just bee-cause...
The house is currently without cats, but we still plant catnip just bee-cause it flowers all season, and the bees seem to love it. I had the camera out yesterday and caught some of them in action. (I think there are three species here.)
