Next up Itch! By Gemma Amor, unintentionally the 3rd book containing bugs I've read the past month. This Folk Horror has me absolutely gripped and smashed through the first 100. Though as an anxious scratcher it's set me right off. 😂

My creep-athon continues with Season 2 of creep tapes. No spoilers but the setup for episode 1 is great and a strong start to the season. Looking forward to see how unhinged it gets with PeachFuzz.

Burnout has is grips around me again so Creep series is kinda like a comfort film for me I guess. Currently watching Creep 2. Wanna hang out with Josef before he eventually tells me things aren't as magical like they used to be before getting slaughtered. 🖤

Went to see Tina Romero's Queens of The Dead last night. I thought it's really fun watch and didn't drag at all (no pun intended) nothing ground breaking but a solid love letter to horror and queer culture
Bless Barry he tries. 💜🖤

Finished Deliver Me, I enjoyed it enough but thought it would have more weird bug stuff and seemed to end pretty suddenly.

Next is Jessie Elland - The Ladies Upstairs.. Mixed reviews but one review says Northanger Abbey meets Saltburn which seems appropriate so far in. 🖤

A twisted Body Horror a little control of women's bodies. Oh and stuff involving insects and bugs...

Moïra Fowley - Eyes Guts Throat Bones. A collection of sinister queer short stories

The Midnight Shift by Cheon Seon-Ran.

The sleek cover drew me in, a queer vampire murder mystery is perfect for this time of year, or any time of the year actually. 📚🌈

Next read: Before we say goodbye - Toshikazu Kawaguchi.

Before the coffee goes cold was perhaps the first book I read when I was trying to get into reading the other year and really enjoyed the premise of it. Not read book 2 or 3 in series and I believe this is book 4 but doubt it matters to enjoy.

Mental Health was naff so took forever to finish reading this but really enjoyed the gritty intensity of it.

Finally got around to going to the allotment again after a while to pick some stuff. Absolutely no idea what to do with this so probably going to donate to a community cafe along with the rest of excess stuff. 🖤💜

The Queen by Nick Cutter.

So far it's a pretty twisted body horror. One of the few books I've read that does a good job being descriptive and gross without just overloading my mind cus I struggled to actually visualise things. So thumbs up from me. 👍

Ghost Story aka Circle of Fear. (1972)

I Had never heard of this series before, fantastic quirky, interesting and a fair bit camp horror episode series. Loved the episodes I've seen so far. Including one or a frog in a satanic robe. 🐸🖤

Walking the dog around the block then seeing a goldmine of pallets for the allotment. So rushing home to grab car then having to try to cram them into a hatchback and risking a final destination moment.

Next read: The eyes are the best part by Monika Kim.

Been struggling to read with burnout so the fact this is split up to so many chapters(?) is really helping. So far seems relatable enough but with an edge of bizarre to keep me interested and turning the pages.

I believe it's from Cardiff Castle. Awesome album too!

Mieko Kawakami - Heaven

I remember having this reserved at my library for a while but when it finally came around to picking it up I couldn't get myself outside to get it so glad I found it again.

Only a few chapters in but already teared up when he suggested Kojima cut his hair to regulate.

Demon Wind (1990) kept seeing the pretty cool poster art pop up but never gave it a chance. A pretty ridiculous but fun trashy flick that tries to cover a lot of different ground (horror tropes) but if you take it for what it is then it's quite a laugh, so give it a watch.

Well this was intense. Anyone who can relate to a parent putting on a smile and a show for those around them while crumbling and lying behind closed doors will feel uncomfortable watching this Found Footage. For a film that's not graphic it makes up for it with the intense unease running throughout.

I find it pretty wild that there are actually people going about life without the daily mental health battles and crushing trauma gymnastics lol.

Gunna watch this ridiculous piece of trash again because sometimes you just want daft and gore. 🫠
