This is one of my favorite passages of Walden. I use it to teach enjambment. Groups of students create poems using mostly only these words. Every group always has a different poem. Then we look at the work the line breaks are doing in their creations. 📖

There should be a movie about Perkins!

Thanks for the book rec! That one is about her aiding refugees from Nazi Germany. I am adding it to the tbr pile!

Contact Living Leaks for speakers! They train descendants of survivors to tell their grandparents' stories. I am a Living Links speaker and would definitely consider participating.

David says it doesn't have the Salish languages or Ladino. You might find some others that are missing. It is pretty amazingly comprehensive, though.
