Is this true even if you normalize for performance and power consumption? I'd imagine that the cloud computing effective cost per performance unit has improved from the perspective of the customer, just not as dramatically as cost of hardware.

They already have some form of domain verification. One next step could be to check domain certificates. Having one can mean that whoever owns the account went through some scrutiny to verify themselves with the certificate authority. People seeing the profile can judge if the CA is trustworthy.

That's just a slogan, and as with any slogan the idea of it is to generate a shock effect that will make you question things. "is defunding the police really a possibility?". Then you research and find that it's 90% not that extreme. Ppl who complained about it would complain about other things.

That came out of police brutality and the need to hold police accountable. Most people aren't defending to abolish the police, but to fire a lot of them and ideally restructure it, and move the extra money to things like education.
