This semester I’ve been teaching my first solo-taught undergrad course, and stuff like this makes me really appreciate the teaching side of things in Academia.

Research is nice and all, but most professors genuinely strive to make a difference in the classroom!

Salvini (Italian right wing politician) praises Trump’s tariffs saying that they wouldn’t hurt Italy.

Suddenly we have Schrodinger’s tariffs, benefitting Americans and maybe even competitors. Of course, why didn’t we think of that!

This wary message brings up one of the main issues with a Trump admin: credibility on the global/multilateral stage. Or, as I like to call it, the ‘Italy Effect’. Maybe the ‘Berlusconi Effect’ too. We get the idea.
