I really don't see our game plan when we sit deep. With 11 players in the defensive third we can't play out, break or regain control of the game. There's no real plan to play on the break, only hopeful punts upfield. It'a a bit of a mystery to me.

Absolutely. Pre covid, the FA did a fantastic job in looking at other nations to improve coach education with the view of creating the generation of footballers we now see. In 5-10 years time we will be back to the dark days because we no longer invest in grassroots coaches.

Level 1 does not exist now, which is a shame. The ‘introduction to football’ course is great for exactly that, an introduction for parents, but then there’s a massive gap that hasn’t been filled in coaching for those that can’t commit to UEFA C to the detriment of grassroots.

Thanks for posting. The lack of goalkeeper coaching at grassroots is a big problem especially in girls football. Technique and tactical aspects of the position is the same as the men’s game but speed and power are even more important.
