The comparison with hotmail and email is a bit confusing, tbf. Hotmail used the email protocol, but Bluesky does not use the Twitter protocol. There isn't a Twitter protocol as far as I know, which is why it's cool that Bluesky is actually making a protocol that other clients will be able to use.

In a perfect world, these really should be considerations for web designers already. Users with disabilities can't rely on those things either.
