Apparently I haven't used this word often in my recent WIPs, but I found one! From the poly Shin/MC/Toma Amnesia fic I've been chipping away at for a while
Shin's eyes drift closed as his smile gentles. He can imagine the cute furrow he's sure is still between Hana's brows on the other end of the line. "Alright. Don't push yourself too hard, Shin." There's a faint shout on her end of the line. "I do have to go now, unfortunately." "Work hard, no slacking off. I'll pick you up after your shift." "Fine. I'll see you tonight. Love you." His heart stutters in his chest. "I love you too." The call drops. Shin lowers the phone from his ear, staring at it almost blankly for a few seconds longer. Then a smile once again spreads across his face. He leaves the phone at his desk, deciding to follow through on the plan he'd made on the spot during their call.

I've mostly had preference for water starters, though Chikorita was my first ever pick since I played Yellow and didn't pick for Kanto until the remakes. Exceptions are usually made for designs that just catch my eye more that game lol. Haven't played gen 8 but when I get there I know my pick 🤭
