I started smoking at 13 and spent 25 years trying to quit. I watched my dad, a lifelong smoker, die of lung cancer aged 66. I feared my daughter would watch the same in years ahead. But I never stopped trying and went to a quit clinic aged 40. I've never looked back #NoSmokingDay

Tobacco kills around 1,800 people each year in Northern Ireland; thats 1 person every 5 hours.

Today representatives in Northern Ireland have a huge opportunity to take a step towards a #SmokefreeUK and play their part in helping to end cancers caused by smoking. 🧵1/2

In 100 days, I start my biggest challenge ever for @cruk-ci.bsky.social attempting to run 2️⃣5️⃣0️⃣ miles non-stop round the Thames Ring.

IF I can complete this within the 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ hour cutoff, I’ll then run my 15th #LondonMarathon, back to back 🏃🏻‍♂️
