I think that instead of worrying about house prices in the UK falling, we should instead be preventing any future rise out of line with inflation - the 1990s-present property culture has priced many younger people out of ever being able to afford their own home.

The thing I understand least about Trump's new tariffs would he's setting them nearly as high for Taiwanese imports to the US as Chinese ones. Taiwan is a Western ally at risk from China, and surely anyone in the right democratic mind would want to forge closer ties with them.
