8-Wilder vegetation where grass used to dominate. Here an clear example in the Flagey ponds. (this one seems to be mainly for the birds)

7-A bit of an unorthodox measure: they turned a big chunk of a very busy commercial street (Ch. d'Ixelles) into a space for pedestrians AND buses. Here a picture with the 71 bus passing by. Not sure this is the optimal solution, but it looks/feels better than the car infested situation of the past.

6-Clear efforts to increase priority of bikes in detriment of cars. Here an example in Les Marolles.

5-A whole lot of new green spaces were concrete used to dominate.

4-A lot of parking space turned into small gardens with trees or parking for bicycles.

2-Car-free bits that increase extension of parks, like this one in Flagey. (I used to run in this area and crossing this street used to be a challenge).

1-Many streets have been made car-free. This includes the main road in the city center (Bvar. Anspach), but also other roads like this one around St. Gilles:

Returning to Brussels after a few years I was amazed by how much the city changed. Many measures taken to improve mobility and overall livability of the city and I had no idea, so here a small thread about that (pictures are not amazing, sorry about that):

The Dutch got you covered! I've seen them transport up to 4 kids in those bakfiets! And yes, they're rain proof.
