When was the last time you saw a celebration in criminal court? Today, prosecutors, public defenders, the sheriff and many others joined in congratulating the newest 3 graduates of Young Adult Court in Orange County. Jointly created by a UCI professor and alum, it saves money and restores lives.

Given recent events, it's all the more important to support Girls Inc. Educating girls is key to community development. Really pleased I could join in today's celebration of college-bound programs.

One photo sums up parts of the last 13 years of my professional life. All are former doctoral students of mine. Three tenured associate professors, three assistant professors, one on their way. Each is a superb scholar and person. Very proud of them.
