When reminded of the 'Area Mama' they degendered her and called trans people disgusting for using her death as if it wasn't her liberation from the gendered binary that got her killed. Heinous stuff.

A few weeks ago, some Nigerian TERFs had beef with a trans allied feminist and it got ugly. Few hours later they were doing feminist mission statements with the blatant ommission of trans rights.

I assumed Nigerians educated to be leftist(socialist) would bd less likely to hold on to misogynistic views since they's have to be more exposed to progressive ideas unlike anti-religous posters.

There's Nigerian atheists on X and every so often there comes the discussion about how misogynistic and homophobic they can get negating any claim to progressive. I don't see a lot of socialists there though, seemed less likely
