i think it's less so denying their popularity and more so the fact that mainstream listeners don't care much to learn much about the music they listen to. see the tweet below yours. to be fair, & prove my point further, even i never connected the dots between tally hall & miracle musical until 2024.

the ability to change an artist's name in your apple music library is so sick because i'm able to change "miracle musical" to "ミラクルミュージカル"
