I made a visual guide explaining the fight mechanics to The Forecaster, a Rank S Elite Hunt Mark in the Living Memory zone in #FFXIV #FF14. I hope this helps anyone who is fighting this powerful mark at the odd hours when you'll see lots of mechanics. :)
Drawn, written, and designed by Floon Drif of Faerie the Forecaster guide by floon 1. The fight starts with a tutorial of sorts. You will see each variation of weather status and which AOEs correspond to them. These will be telegraphed! 2. The Forecaster will have a long dialogue about the forecast, but you can just look at the icons on its status bar. They should be in the same order that the mechanics will go off in. The Forecaster "Reacquiring data... Thunderclouds will give way to ferocious gales then sizzling heat!" Hyperelectricity -> Gale-force Winds -> Wildfire Conditions 82.5% The Forecaster Status Bar with Hyperelectricity, Gale-force Winds, and Wildfire Conditions icons When the cast “Climate Change” goes off, the AOEs will go off in sequence untelegraphed. 3. The Forecaster may have a secondary dialogue about an error. Read this one to see which weather is being overwritten. The new weather condition will take the place of the overwritten one. The Forecaster "<bloop> eRrOr! Revising forecast... Expect blizzard conditions, not violent zephyrs!" Hyperelectricity -> (Gale-force Winds crossed out) Blizzards -> Wildfire Conditions 82.5% The Forecaster Status Bar with Hyperelectricity, Gale-force Winds, Wildfire Conditions, and a glitchy Bizzards icons "I’m a FFXIV player. I don’t know how to read." Quick Reference Table with Icon, Status Name, Name When Overwritten, and AOE shape headers Hyperelectricity - Shocking Storms - Out is Safe Wildfire Conditions - Searing Sunshine - In in Safe Gale-force Winds - Violent Zephyrs - Back is Safe Blizzards - Wintry Woe - Intercardinals Safe The Forecaster also does “Flood Conditions,” which are just telegraphed, targeted AOEs that you can run out of.
