You could also create a separate log in name, and give that name limited access to apps. When you want to write, just log into "WriterAdam" or whatever, and you'll only have access to what you need.

What about an inexpensive reconditioned Macbook Pro with a small hard drive? You could load just what you need on it, and being able to use it away from your desk could break any patterns or habits you might have of sitting down in front of your primary computer.

In this case, I had written Insatiable for an anthology project, but went over on the word count, and couldn't cut it down any smaller.
