To add, some people, like my friend, have an astigmatism, which makes traditional contact lenses difficult to wear (an expensive for a proper fit) or not at all, so glasses may be the only option for proper vision

People who are blind without them/gen

I asked the same thing but a friend of mine has to keep theirs on in the shower. In their case, they have a special anti fog/water coating on them so that it's still possible to see (hopefully this makes sense)
