Totally understandable (and: same!). Apologies if my reply came off as suggesting kink was an antidote / solution; I was actually trying to express support / agreement, as your points definitely resonate.

One of the things I like about kink / fetish is the way in which it’s positioned to broaden ideas about intimacy and connection and gratification into areas that are compatible with allosexuality without necessarily requiring it. I wish that was more widely acknowledged and embraced.

Yeah, “good boy” gives me personally more of a pet feeling than a childish feeling. I’m not a pup by any stretch, but the sort of controlled / commanded / serving feeling of an obedient pet is a decent correlation to one of my preferred sub spaces.

I generally get off on whatever the Dom likes to call me most once that’s established (and like you, find it satisfying to “be named” as its own power exchange)

I suspect age has something to do with it in my specific case. I’m too old for anyone to credibly be calling me “boy” as an indicator that they think I’m youthful. Add to that I’ve had more success interacting with Doms a little younger than myself.

Outside any context, I think “boy” is the safest starting point. I’m not attached to boy, to be clear, but reasonably indicates an interest in Domming me without assuming a dynamic. Oddly, I’m least interested in using “Daddy” for someone I perceive as Dom.
