I had this issue a few months back. Not an ideal solution, but I called back to back about 10 times in a row and eventually got past the automated message. I still had to wait on hold for another 45 minutes, but at least I got to speak with someone. Hopefully that works, frustrating as it may be.

Got mine at 5:50 this morning from Walmart, although they left it unboxed in my apartment lobby, which meant I had to run and grab it before some else did.

Spent about 20 minutes stuck in an endless loop of errors with Target. Then hopped over to Walmart, waited maybe 5 minutes in line, and got one. Like you said... just hoping they don’t come back later with a he he just kidding.
